BYU Students

BYU students follow a slightly modified process for registering for the summer semester at Tel Shimron.

  1. Fill out the Tel Shimron application and indicate that this excavation is being taken for credit and click on “BYU” under institution. No references are needed, input N/A on the application.

  2. Once you receive the acceptance letter with your link and password, complete the Tel Shimron Documents Guide with the exception of the payments and Health Clearance Form. You will handle tuition and fees payment and health clearance through BYU.

Total cost for the three-week experience (June 18-July 12) is $5,516; cost for the six-week experience (June 18-August 2) is $8,913.

This price includes airfare, insurance, room and board at both the BYU Jerusalem Center and Tel Shimron, academic credits for ANES 353R, and field trips. Costs are subject ot change based on the number of students participating. Funding is available through Religious Education and Ancient Near Eastern Studies.
