Work in Progress

We've had a couple of hot days but that hasn't slowed us down in the least. Grid 92 continues to excavate the remains of 20th century settlements on Tel Shimron in one area of the grid while in other places, they are starting to move earlier.

A number of specialists have also continued their work. The geology team has worked its way up the tel and is establishing protocols for the remainder of the season. Our conservationist continues to work on material from Tel Shimron as well as items from Ashkelon, the site we excavated last year.

And each afternoon, volunteers and staff alike process pottery, faunal material and flint. They're busy days but we always learn something new and add a new piece to the puzzle.
