Preseason Day Four

Today we held our annual excavation tool draft during which supervisors selected tools, ranging from wheelbarrows and sifters to picks, buckets and brooms, for each of our excavation areas. With all the equipment organized, we are ready to welcome our first group of school children, who come as part of our education outreach program, on Sunday.

Elsewhere, work continued on updating computers, fencing excavation areas, building ceramic typologies, and preparing the caravans for the arrival of staff tomorrow. In other words, it was more of the same today.

After almost two years, there’s a lot of clean up to do in the excavation areas before we begin digging new occupation levels and add to the story of Tel Shimron. The work gets underway next week!
