We are on track

As we settle into a much-deserved weekend we reflect on a very productive first two weeks of excavation and look forward to a third week.

We have been very productive during these past two weeks - despite a longer-than-anticipated quarantine, difficulties resulting from being away for two years, etc. - thanks to the hard work of everyone that made the journey to join us this summer. We are on track to accomplish our goals for this season. We are removing fill that cover critical areas and are achieving significant depth (we’re moving a lot of dirt!).

While most of the team rests this weekend, Daniel, Josh and Adam will head to Ashkelon to work on publication and exhibition of finds during our time excavating there.

On Monday, we will resume excavation of Grid 92, at the bottom of the tel, where we hope to better understand the Middle Bronze Age, after digging there in 2017 and 2019.
